Land of Sharks

Discovery Channel / Volkswagen

Millions of years ago, ancient oceans covered much of the United States and prehistoric sharks roamed where we live today. To celebrate Shark Week, Discovery partnered with Volkswagen to create the "Land of Sharks". Using Google Street View Image API and WebGL, we crafted and developed an immersive 3D experience where users can type in their location and travel back in time to learn more about prehistoric sharks that used to roam their area. As part of the experience, we also followed a family on a journey across America to learn more about ancient sharks and documented their road trip through interactive content.

Closing Remarks

Besides the main digital experience, I was also involved in the art direction and creation of all additional promotional materials created for the program. We developed an entire social campaign around the content, which included, but not limited to, facebook canvas ads, snapchat ads, and organic social posts.
